About
About the Artist
Carol Hansen is an oil painter whose work is inspired by American impressionism and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Carol’s journey as an artist began with a degree in Art and Design from the University of Wisconsin. After working for many years as an architectural designer and art teacher, she turned her attention to painting full-time.
Carol has studied with many well-known artists and painted Plein air in locations across the United States and abroad. Now based in the Pacific Northwest, she spends her summers painting outdoors in Oregon and the surrounding areas and her winters in the studio. She finds constant inspiration in the region's magical landscapes, from its misty forests to dramatic coastlines. Her work explores the play of light and color, whether in the natural landscape in the Pacific Northwest, or in the details of everyday objects.
